messages and photos that you post to your very own timeline.
With one subscription, all the family can join in!

At Saying-Hello, our mission is to keep all the family connected. We take your messages and photos that you post online, and collate them into customised personal newsletters for those who are offline.

Whilst the UK currently endures lockdown, it may be a number of months until it is safe to see our elderly family members again. We understand the importance of family relationships, and how modern technology may not be for everybody.

Receiving a printed family newsletter is a fantastic way of staying in touch with vulnerable loved ones.

All of your family and friends can have unlimited access with just one membership, making it much easier for everyone to contribute to each newsletter.

Saying-Hello is completely safe and secure.

A.
Can the newsletter be for a couple? EG Mum and Dad or Grandma and Grandad?
Q.
Yes absolutely. When you start your free trial, where it asks for the name of your chosen person, just enter both names.... EG Bob and Sue
Q.
Can I send a copy of the same newsletter to a different family member?
A.
Each subscription is for one newsletter only. And of course it's personal to the person it is for. But there is nothing to stop you from making your own copies to pass around the family.
Q.
When do I get my free Saying-Hello binder?
A.
The binder is sent out with the second newsletter. It's our way of saying thank you for joining our community. The newsletters are all hole punched so they can be stored in the binder. It is simple but effective and gives the person the ability to keep each newsletter safe and refer back to it. They'll love it. They can store their photos and images and they don't even need a hard drive :-)
Q.
What type of people is this aimed at?
A.
We are finding that the elderly benefit the most as they are typically digitally disconnected. The don't have access to Instagram or Facebook and if we mention Tick Tock, they are pretty sure we are talking about the time. They will often have children in their 50's or 60's who also have children and maybe even grandchildren. The bigger the family, then more effective this works. Six people posting just 2 messages / pictures a month can produce a nice updated newsletter ensuring the person feels remembered and included.
Q.
Can I buy this as a present for someone?
A.
Absolutely. For the elderly this is the perfect present. They no longer want "things". Getting them the gift of being connected with friends and family is invaluable.
Q.
Can I get Saying-Hello for someone who lives in a carehome?
A.
Saying-Hello is particularly helpful to people living in care homes or assisted living facilities. It helps all the family to stay in touch, particularly when regular visits are challenging. It also provides a resource for care home staff who can use it to reference family members and events.
Q.
Is this just for the UK?
A.
Anyone from all over the world can contribute to a Saying-Hello newsletter - in fact it's one of the very special things about it. But currently we are only mailing to UK postal addresses. However our sister company www.saying-hello.com is mailing all over the United States.
Q.
If I take the annual subscription and need to cancel half way through the year, do I get a refund?
A.
No. If you take the annual subscription and you cancel for any reason. The cancellation is effective from your next renewal date. If you need more flexibility, then the monthly option is the one for you.

Exactly how does this work?
The devil is in the detail!
Logging in for the
first time
Once you have logged into your account, you can invite as many family and friends as you'd like to post on your timeline, at no extra charge. The more the merrier! Once you invite them, they will receive their own login details. The goal is to keep everyone connected, and if each person just sends a few brief messages each month, it could still make a lovely newsletter.
You write messages
+ take photos
You can write messages or take photos at any time - simple messages can work really well, just sharing anything about your day. As each member posts their messages, these are automatically added to the timeline. Everyone can see and comment on each other's messages.
We print and
post
On the 1st of each month, we collate all the messages and photos from all the family and friends, and create a personalised newsletter. We will then post this out! At a time when most things are only available online, this personalised printed service really helps to keep everyone connected – even when they are digitally disconnected.

About
How this all started
My name is Sean Hanna, and I was inspired to create Saying-Hello UK due to the challenges faced during lockdown, especially whilst trying to visit and take care of my elderly father.

My cousin Mo initially launched Saying-Hello in the USA, as her mother lives in the UK. Conversations over the phone can be tricky as her mother is hard of hearing, making it rather difficult to have direct contact.

I can't stress how important it is to support our elderly loved ones, as they can feel lonely and disconnected, especially in this digital era. Saying-Hello aims to improve the emotional bonds that we have as well as communication, to help bring all the family together.
